Mona Gray is a 20-year-old loner who has long relied on mathematics as a source of comfort and order. As a child, she turned to numbers after her father became ill, using them as a way to make sense of a difficult time. Now an adult, Mona teaches the subject she once clung to for salvation, while trying to guide her students as they face crises of their own.
