Being There

Chance, a sheltered and simple-minded gardener, has lived his entire life inside the Washington, D.C., home of an elderly employer. When the old man dies, Chance is forced out onto the street with little understanding of the outside world beyond what he has seen on television. His innocence and plain way of speaking soon lead him into the orbit of a powerful tycoon and, unexpectedly, Washington politics.
