In New York City, the Wellers are a complicated family trying to make sense of their changing lives. A divorced playwright and his therapist ex-wife navigate new relationships while continuing to face the ties that still connect them, including their daughter. As each member of the family confronts personal choices and old tensions, they work toward understanding themselves and one another.
