Former sheriff Alden Rockwell is trying to settle into a retirement he never wanted when his best friend, an old war buddy and neighboring sheriff, is mysteriously shot. As overlooked evidence begins to point toward corruption, Alden volunteers as a private investigator and takes the case into his own hands, uncovering signs of a criminal conspiracy reaching across two counties.
