Set in the 16th century during the era of the Kazakh Khanate, Dawn of the Great Steppe tells the story of Kasym Khan, the fourth ruler of the khanate. The film focuses on a period regarded as the height of the Kazakh Khanate and presents Kasym Khan as a central figure in uniting the Kazakh tribes, often remembered as one of their greatest leaders.
