In the final months of World War II, a Brooklyn man and his wife are wrongly believed to be Jewish by their anti-Semitic neighbors. As suspicion turns into religious and racial persecution, the couple is forced to confront hatred that has suddenly entered their own lives. Finding common cause with a local Jewish immigrant, they struggle to hold on to their dignity and survive in a hostile community.
