Hawaii

Abner Hale, a rigid and humorless missionary from New England, marries the beautiful Jerusha Bromley and brings her with him to the island kingdom of Hawaii. Determined to convert the native people, the couple enters a world far removed from their own. As their beliefs meet an unfamiliar culture, the distance between intention and understanding grows, setting the stage for conflict and tragedy.
