King Lear

An aging king chooses to abdicate, handing power to daughters whose flattering loyalty masks corruption and self-interest. At the same time, he rejects the one daughter who truly loves him and speaks honestly. His misjudgment sets a disastrous course, as pride, misplaced trust, and false devotion threaten both his family and the authority he gives away.
