After suffering a stroke, Phil, a strong middle-aged man, wakes with no memory of his past. As he recovers, he is cared for by Millie, a woman living in a remote, deserted part of the Isle of Lewis. Into the blank space left by his accident, Millie introduces a secret: she tells Phil that before the stroke, the two of them were secretly in love.
