At John Hughes High School, a popular gridiron hero takes a bet that he can transform a bespectacled plain Jane into a beautiful, popular prom queen. Built as an outrageous send-up of teen movies from the 1980s and 1990s, the story plays with familiar high school movie setups, from makeovers and popularity contests to prom-night expectations.
