After his parents are killed in a car accident, young genius Ethan is overwhelmed by guilt and walks away from a promising future at MIT to care for his younger siblings. At home, his unfinished experiment leads to the accidental creation of a device that intensifies the paranormal activity in the family house, raising hope that lost loved ones may return while releasing forces far more dangerous.
