Young nurse Alma is assigned to care for Elisabeth Vogler, an actress who appears physically and mentally healthy but has stopped speaking. As the two women spend time together, Alma fills the silence with constant talk while Elisabeth offers no reply. In their isolated routine, the boundary between caregiver and patient begins to blur as their identities seem to draw unsettlingly close.
