Running with Scissors

In 1970s America, teenage Augusten Burroughs grows up amid a chaotic family life, with an alcoholic father and an unstable, pretentious mother. When his mother sends him to live with her therapist, Dr. Finch, Augusten is drawn into the doctor’s jolly, vulgar household and becomes part of an eccentric extended family whose strange routines shape his adolescent years.
