In late 1960s Los Angeles, French New Wave icon Jean Seberg becomes drawn into the turbulent civil rights movement through her political and romantic involvement with activist Hakim Jamal. As Hoover’s FBI takes interest in her, an ambitious young agent is assigned to investigate the actress, placing her public life and private convictions under intense scrutiny.
