Founded in the early 1980s by Rod Canion, Jim Harris and Bill Murto, Compaq Computer set out to build a portable PC to take on IBM, the world’s most powerful tech company. Compaq fought and won, and then ultimately faltered. But they left their mark on the world of computing and the PC industry which altered the world.
