The Battle of Neretva
The Battle of Neretva follows the 1943 fighting around the Neretva River, where Axis forces move against Yugoslav Partisan units during World War II. In January, fearing an Allied invasion of the Balkans, the German army launches a large offensive in Western Bosnia, leaving the Partisans and thousands of refugees with one crucial way out: the bridge over the Neretva.
