The Convert

In 1830s New Zealand, Munro, a former soldier turned lay preacher, arrives at a British settlement to minister to the first colonists. As a bloody war between Maori tribes unfolds around him, his violent past comes under scrutiny and his faith is tested. Drawn into the influence of the powerful chief Maianui, Munro is pushed toward a purpose far different from the one that brought him there.
