The Piano

In the mid-19th century, Ada, a mute woman, is sent to the wilderness of New Zealand with her spirited young daughter and her treasured piano for an arranged marriage to a farmer. Isolated in an unfamiliar land, she clashes with her controlling husband while a rugged farm worker becomes increasingly drawn to her, stirring a forbidden attraction and a tense battle of wills.
