Brantley Foster, a well-educated young man from Kansas, arrives in New York City determined to make it big. He soon discovers that landing the career and romantic life he imagined is harder than expected. When he turns to his uncle Howard Prescott, the head of a multimillion-dollar company, Brantley gets only a mail room job, prompting him to look for a shortcut to the executive world.
