Timbuktu

Outside the Malian city of Timbuktu, a cattle herder lives with his family in the dunes, largely apart from the militant Islamic rebels who have occupied the city and impose Sharia on its civilians. Their quiet routine is disrupted as the rebels’ control reaches into daily life, and a deadly confrontation between the cattleman and a fisherman pulls the family into the turmoil around them.
